Milwaukee arts neighborhood

Third Ward is a neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is one of the most historic neighborhoods in the city and is also known as the Arts and Fashion District. It is located just to the south of downtown and according to the Historic Third Ward Association website, it is within three blocks. This is the perfect place to come to go shopping, to dine out or to attend one of the many events and festivals that take place here every year.

The average price for homes in the Third Ward is $365,000. This is a neighborhood of condos. Upscale condos and lofts are in abundance. Depending on location, amenities and size, they start at around $165,000 and the sky is the limit. Many of the condos are located in old, converted factory buildings. It is a very attractive area and many of the homes have access to docks and the lake.

Vieau School is the closest one to this neighborhood. It offers classes from Pre-K through grade 8. It is not highly rated for performance having earned a 2/10 on standardized state test; however, it is very popular with parents and student who give it a 5/5 community rating.

The Milwaukee Public Market is located in the Historic Third Ward. It is the site of some wonderful restaurants as well as events such as cooking classes, ethic and specialty foods, a bakery and a whole lot more. It is a place to gather after work and to come with the family on the weekends. It is a favorite spot for lunch and dinner.

Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design is located within this neighborhood. It is a private four year college with an emphasis on the arts, as the name implies. It is a small college with a student body of less than 800, but it is a definite asset to the area.

The Skylight Opera Theatre  has been offering a great cultural experience to the entire city of Milwaukee for over 50 years. With over 80 performances a year, there is sure to be one that will strike a chord with theatre and music lovers of all ages.

Henry W Maier Festival Park is the home of Summerfest and the Marcus Amphitheatre host top tier entertainment. This is a very busy park during the summer when there are several ethnic festivals that are held here. The park is located right along Lake Michigan and has plenty of benches to enjoy sitting and taking in the view.

The neighborhood has plenty of shopping and dining and there is a Circle K Grocery Store on North Water Street, which is very convenient for residents.

The Historic Third Ward is a great neighborhood to live in. It is located close to downtown, has plenty of amenities and there are lots of housing options. Residents can enjoy the views of Lake Michigan while walking through the historic streets.
