Where to see Santa Claus in Manchester England

One of the joys of the holiday season for most young kids is the chance to see Santa Claus. Many department stores, shopping malls and retailers will set up a grotto where kids can go to meet Santa, have a chat with him and let him know the gift they want for Christmas. They may even get a small gift to make their day and most towns and cities will have a few locations where Santa can be visited. For residents of Manchester, England there are a few options for taking their kids to a Santa’s grotto and the following are some of them.

The Trafford Centre

The Trafford Centre will be one of the best places in Manchester to see Santa and the experience of visiting will be more than just the chance to meet Santa. An Ice Palace Grotto has been sent up and entering this sets you off on a journey. The experience starts with a 4D Christmas movie called Rocket the Reindeer which lasts around 15 minutes. A trip deeper into the grotto follows this to meet Santa where kids can get a small gift and have their photo taken. The experience will cost GBP3.50 per person or a family ticket will cost GBP12 and the experience is estimated to take around 45 minutes.

Chill Factor-e

The Chill Factor-e is an indoor real snow Center in Trafford Quays and in the run up to Christmas they will have a Santa’s Grotto available for kids. This will be set up with real snow, Christmas trees, stalls and lights and kids visiting will be given the opportunity to meet Santa in a festive setting. The cost is GBP16 for 2 adults and a child or GBP12 for 1 adult and a child and as well as getting to meet Santa the cost of admission enables the child to have some fun in a snow play area for half an hour. The grotto will be in place until 24 December so there is plenty of time to enjoy the experience and meet Santa.

Lowry Outlet Mall

The Lowry Outlet Mall will have a Santa’s Alpine Grotto set up until the 24th December with the Grotto open all day at the weekend and in the afternoon from Wednesday to Friday. Santa will be joined by a host of other characters including Mrs. Claus and on selected days there will be face painting and balloon modeling for children. The cost of entry is GBP3.50 and for those in the Salford Quay area it will provide a good location to meet Santa and have a little fun.

Arndale Centre

The Manchester Arndale is one of the biggest city center shopping malls in the UK and during December a visit to this will provide the opportunity to meet Santa. He will be residing inside a giant Christmas present and kids will get the chance to go inside and meet him. Centrally located in the city, the Manchester Arndale will be one of the easiest locations to find Santa in December and many kids will want to get inside the giant present and meet him.
