Neighborhood Guide Renaissance in Tulsa ok

Renaissance is a neighborhood in Tulsa Oklahoma located to the east of downtown. It is two blocks north to south between 11th and 13th and that runs between South Harvard Avenue on the east  and South Lewis Avenue on the west. It is located directly adjacent to the south of the University of Tulsa. This is a mature neighborhood with tree lined streets with sidewalks. There are some very pretty houses in a variety of styles and it is very much what you would expect to see in a neighborhood adjacent to a college.

When it comes to which elementary school the students in this neighborhood will attend, there are two that are within a half mile, Kendall Whittier Elementary School and Barnard Elementary. Both schools are extremely popular with their school communities and have been awarded a 5/5 community rating by   As far as standardized state tests, both schools perform at the same level 4/10 when compared with other schools.   Wilson Middle School which is located within the Renaissance neighborhood performs at the same 4/10 level.

The University of Tulsa is a four year private college with a humanities based curriculum. There is also a law school along with the other graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is one of the largest employers in this area of Tulsa.

Gary Park is located within the neighborhood and is less than a half-acre in size. It includes walking path and a playground.

Located on South Columbia Avenue, Tulsa Baptist Temple offers a place for believers to find a home. Their website states their beliefs very clearly and it also includes the times of services for both children and adults. The church has a youth pastor and it is very committed to its teens and young adults.  The website also includes copies of their newsletter if you are interested in finding out what they have done in the past and plan to do in the future. This 66 year old church is very active and there are lots of things to get involved in.

Woodland Hills Mall is a nine mile drive away which takes about 15 minutes to navigate. It isn’t the closest shopping center but it is the most comprehensive.  There are 165 stores at the mall and it is anchored by Dillard’s, JCPenney, Macy’s and Sears. Of the 165 stores, 80 are exclusive to this mall in the Tulsa area, it’s here or nowhere basically. This is a Simon Mall and will have a lot in common with most other Simon Malls around the country.  There are always employment opportunities at the mall as well.

The Tulsa State Fairgrounds are located just about a mile from this neighborhood. The Tulsa State Fair runs from the end of September through the first week of October and is one of the best reasons to come to Tulsa at this time of year.

Renaissance is a nice neighborhood to choose for a home with some character. You will find bungalows and other homes that are good looking and well built. The price run from $100,000 and up.
