Summer activities in Albuquerque, NM

Albuquerque, New Mexico located in central New Mexico, is a fun and interesting place to visit. Albuquerque boasts many interesting events, places to go and things to do during the warm summer months.

Popejoy Hall, located at the University of New Mexico is a performing arts center that hosts many wonderful events from concerts to traveling plays. They have hosted traveling plays such as Wicked and Cats. The venue is very pleasant and professionally run. The events they host at Popejoy are all extremely entertaining. Those who love to watch live theatre will feel like they have gone to a Broadway production after watching a production at Popejoy.

For those who want to go beyond watching a play and be a part of the action, The Downtown Historic Bed and Breakfast is the place to be. Once a month they have a Dinner Mystery Theatre that is a must event to participate in. Up to 20 guests meet at the Bed and Breakfast to participate in a mystery theatre. Each person is given a script, and costume. The story is acted out, and the murderer is revealed, all during an excellent dinner. There is ad-libbing and a lot of laughter. This event must be booked two weeks in advance. Of course, Downtown Historic is also a bed and breakfast.  Mystery dinner participants can also spend the night there.This bed and breakfast offers most rooms with their own private bathroom.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science is extremely fun and educational. This museum will provide many house of entertainment with its wonderful exhibits. People can look back through the time of the dinosaurs.The history of space is explored with several space exhibits and a planetarium that is a must see.

The Rio Grande Zoo and Botanic Park are also excellent summer stops. The zoo is beautiful with many interesting animals to visit. It has an aquarium where visitors can meet some very interesting aquatic animals down the Rio Grande from Albuquerque to the Gulf of Mexico. There are activities for the kids and they can even feed the animals at certain times.  At the Botanic Park, visitors can see Japanese gardens, butterflies, and acres of other botanical gardens. There are also activities, concerts, and events throughout the park. Both the zoo and the park will offer a fun and educational time for all.  

Visitors can have a blast on the Sandia Peak Tramway where they can visit the 10,000 peak Sandia Mountains after the 2.7-mile aerial tram ride.  What better way to spend some fun in the sun. 

Albuquerque, New Mexico is a fun place to visit. It is most always warm during the summer months so the many outdoor activities can be enjoyed. However, even if it is raining there are indoor things that a person can find to do for a great time in Albuquerque.
