The Trolley Barn

Nestled in the heart of the downtown area on White Street, the Trolley Barn was a genuine trolley barn for the old Joliet and Northern Indiana Trolley Line back in the founding days of Frankfort Village; now, it has been restored for renewed purpose as a community destination, revitalized as essentially a town mall.

Its attractions include Down Home Guitars, a shop for musicians both current and aspiring; the KidsWork Children’s Museum, a fully functioning hands-on experience for children and children-at-heart; Watershed Café, a Christian-based hang-out and bookstore; Colonel Sweet Tooth, a sweet-tooth satisfying confectionery; the Frankfort Deli, with some classic high-quality sandwich offerings; and more, with certain storefronts still to be added.

Breidert Green

The Green actually faces the Trolley Barn, and is an outdoor clearing with local businesses on all sides. The Green itself has become a year-round host to numerous community events sponsored by the Village.

These include the Fall Fest, an extraordinary arts-and-crafts fair that attracts thousands of visitors and vendors from all across the world; Movies and Concerts on the green, free options for family fun; and several other events, as shown as the calendar that the Village maintains.
