She took her love of good Southern comfort food and turned it into a very popular and success bakery and restaurant. They mill their own grains and boil their bagels looking for authentic textures and tastes. They are well known for their cinnamon rolls and of course the muffins. Among their breads are the rosemary garlic, sour dough, cranberry walnut and honey wheat. They do custom cakes and be sure to grab a cupcake to go. This is so much more than just a bakery; they also have an excellent breakfast and lunch menu as well.  Come to eat and bring home something sweet to snack on later.

If you are looking for a more European style of baked goods, Alons is the place to go. They are known for their artisan breads. If you want the best selection, it is wise to come as close to 10am as possible. They have an excellent choice including olive bread, classic French pain de Mie rolls, chiabatta, orange brioche and semolina. They offer a wide selection of mini and full sized Danish and croissant. They have pies and tarts, cookies and bars, all with a very European flair. Among the most popular of their offerings however, if good old fashioned apple pie made with fresh organic Granny Smith Apples. In 2008 they were named the best bakery in Atlanta and they also won for the best cookies.

When it comes to cakes, there is no place quite like Piece of Cake. Their selection is enough to bring a cake over to tears. Whatever your weakness is, you will probably find it here. Whether you want red velvet, carrot, chocolate or coconut layer or an amazing selection of pound cakes you will find it at the Piece of Cake. If a whole cake is too much, there are the cupcakes which can be ordered and come in a delightful array of flavors and two sizes. Additionally they have brownies and cookies. Henri’s Bakery

This is another European style bakery which has been serving up sweets for over 80 years. No matter whether it is one of their famous cheese straws, an elegant and delicious cupcake or an amazing cream puff, you will find that Henri’s will serve it up with style. They are also known for their amazing lunch sandwiches. The bakery was founded by Henri Fiscus and is still a family run operation.

If you are looking for great donuts, Sublime is considered by many to be the place to go. While this is a donut shop not a traditional bakery, it is so popular that you can expect to wait in line to get your sweet fix.
