Disneyland Annual Passes

If you are a resident of Southern California, chances are that you are familiar with Disneyland.  Many residents of Southern California frequent both the theme park and the surrounding areas.  Here are just a few of the reasons that an annual pass to Disneyland may be a great investment for you.

The first reason is that the cost of an annual pass for Southern California residents is less than the cost of spending two days at the theme park at full price.  That alone can make it tempting, but as a resident of Southern California, you can split even that into much smaller monthly payments, that may be less than your monthly Netflix bill.  It’s much more entertaining than Netflix, too.  If you go even twice during the year, you are already saving money.

The second reason for having an annual pass is for the discounts on merchandise and food.  If you live anywhere within easy driving distance of Disneyland and the surrounding areas, you will find that many places close to Disneyland offer discounts for annual passholders.  Restaurants in the area offer about 10% in many cases.  Many of the shops in Downtown Disney offer 10% discounts on merchandise.  Depending upon what kind of pass you have, you can get up to a 15% discount on food in any of the Disney restaurants.  On merchandise in the park, you can get a 10% discount during annual passholder appreciation days, and a 20% discount on merchandise during those times if you have a premium pass.  Blue Bayou can make a great date night at a 10-15% discount.

The third reason for having an annual pass is to get the discounts on hotel stays at the Disney hotels.  Many of the hotel rates are slashed by at least 40% if you are an annual pass holder.  This is also good for out of town visitors if they make the trek to Anaheim often to enjoy what Disney has to offer.

The fourth reason to own an annual pass, especially for Southern California residents is that you can feel free to leave the park when it gets too crowded.  This way you can enjoy the days that you spend at Disneyland and the surrounding areas even more.

These are just a few of the reasons that you should consider an annual pass to Disneyland if you live close enough to enjoy it.  You don’t even have to go very often to make it worth your while. Even the most expensive pass can pay for itself within 2 weeks, between discounts on food and merchandise, hotel stays and access to the park.  Having an annual pass makes it fun, and you don’t even have to go to Disneyland very much in order to save what you spent.
