The pet-friendly city of Scottdale, AZ

Scottsdale, Arizona is a pet-friendly city. It has three dog parks where pets may get exercise. Many of the hotels allow dogs, but some of them require fees ranging from $10 to $75 per pet. Restaurants, with outdoor seating, allow well-behaved pets to enjoy meals with their owners. Scottsdale has one kennel at the PetSmart store for day camp only.

Dog parks

The three dog parks are Chaparral Park, Horizon Park and Vista Del Camino Park. Hours of operation are sunrise to sunset. Chaparral Park has four acres with the majority of it, grassy. Frost and rain can change the opening hours. It has three sections: one where maintenance occurs daily; the other two posted for active or passive dogs. The park has water fountains, benches, and turf areas. Areas have lights from sundown to 10 at night. Horizon Park has a 2/3 acre of turf with a drinking fountain. The park has no lights. It also has shade structure. Vista Del Camino has a double-gated entrance. It is ½ acre with shade, doggie water fountains and places for people to sit.

Hotels/motels

Three Palms Resort Oasis, on E. McDowell sits next to El Dorado Park with miles of lakes. It has suites and rooms, some with kitchens. The Kimpton boutique at the Caleo Resort and Spa, on N Scottsdale Road allows dogs of all shapes and sizes without additional fees. The resort is in Old Towne. Its cabana and lagoon resemble a beachside resort in the tropics. Camelback Inn- JW Merriott Resort, Comfort Inn Old Town, Inn at the Citadel, La Quinta Inn and Suites, Motel 6, allows all types of dogs.

Restaurants

Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, Muze Bistro, Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Sugar Daddy’s and Veneto Trattoria allow dogs at their outdoor tables. Muze Bistro is a seafood and American food restaurant, and servers provide water and a cookie for each pet. Sugar Daddy’s has Cajun cuisine. Servers provide water for pets. All the tips go to the Association of Dog Owner Group at their complimentary coffee station from 1 pm to 6 pm. Veneto Trattoria serves Italian food.

 Scottsdale has some special places that pet owners can enjoy with their animals. Those listed are ones without restrictions to the animal. Remember, when traveling with pets, to bring all health certificates and present them readily when asked.
