Scottsdale Arizona has many Unique Sporting Events

Sporting events in Scottsdale, Arizona include polo matches, archery championships, golf tournaments, basketball and football games. These events take place in the Fall and Winter. Horse Shows and Games

The Scottsdale Polo Championships occur mid-October and feature not only polo games and champs, but also a car auction. This event has become the best party in Arizona. Archery Championships

The Papago Archery Range offers events in March starting with the ASU Grand Canyon Winter Games. The FITA Archers host an archery course in November for those interested in learning to shoot. October is a popular for archery events; from events like Duel in the Desert to the Iron Archer, these events fit all ages.

Golf Tournaments

The Annual Charles Schwab Cup takes place at the beginning of November. It features the top thirty professionals and lasts for a week. The weekly tickets cost about $50 while a daily pass costs $20. This is the last of the series that run throughout the year. The tournament takes place at the Desert Mountain Club and Cochise Golf Course.

Arizonians support and come out to see their teams wherever they play. The suburbs of Phoenix provide nearby stadiums and venues. The Lady’s Speedstick Half Marathon takes place at N75th Street and East Main in Oldtown Scottsdale. The Half Marathon runs through Papago Park to Tempe Beach Park the first Sunday in November. A 5K race also takes place the same day at Tempe Beach Park. The Ultimate Athlete Contest takes place at 7410 E. Sutton Drive in Scottsdale and features track and field activities also in November. The 5K Annual Walk for Peace takes place at Eldorado Park. The calendar shows many more running and walking events through the year.
